Celebrating Mass Together Safely

We have removed the requirement to book a place for Sunday Masses and to use every other bench in churches.
Stewards will be available to welcome and guide as necessary. However, we need to respect people who remain nervous of the current situation, therefore we will offer an A4 sheet to use if space is wanted between individuals and other people.

Sanitiser – we encourage the continued use of sanitiser on entering and leaving our Churches. Please make use of this facility.

We strongly recommend the continued wearing of face coverings in our Churches.

Please do not come to church if you are displaying any symptoms of the virus.

These arrangements have been put in place to maintain safety for our parishioners in our Churches, so we ask everyone to walk with us and adhere to the new arrangements. Thank you for your help.

Live Streamed Masses

Our Bishops have said that currently there is no ‘obligation’ to actually ‘attend’ Mass in a church.
We are however, able to join together to celebrate via our streamed Masses on Church Services TV

Please follow the Church Services TV link below to access live streaming of Mass from one of our Churches.

Masses are live streamed daily at 10am every day except Monday when it is live streamed at 7pm.

In addition Masses are live streamed on Tuesday at 6.45pm, Thursday at 12 Midday & Saturday at 5pm.

When you go onto the Church Services TV page for our Parish you will see that there are two labels which refer to the two different cameras used for streaming. These cameras are labelled Camera one and Camera two.

If you click on a camera and it does not give you the live-stream, please click on the other camera. Note that live streaming may not start until shortly before the publicized Mass time.
The 10am Mass is available to view on a PC, laptop, iPad, iPhone, Android Tablet or Mobile. Please take this opportunity to experience one or more of the live-streamed Masses from your local Church.

CHURCH SERVICES - STREAMING MASS NOT AVAILABLE? - Sometimes we experience technical issues and the streaming of Mass from St John XXIII or St Joseph’s fails. If this happens then, as we are using Church Services TV to stream, it is easy to find an alternative Mass. You can look at “What’s On Now” or the schedule and select a Mass or search for a church by country, or region with in the country – there are two other churches listed in Tyne and Wear: St Charles, Gosforth and Sacred Heart, North Gosforth.

If we are not there don’t despair find another Mass “On Air”.

Mass Intentions can be arranged with the Parish Office  Email:  sj23office01@gmail.com  or Tel:  0191 4163583.

Mass offering envelopes are available from the church porch. Completed envelopes should be posted in the parish office letter box.
