Safeguarding

Safeguarding

'Take care that you do not despise any one of these little ones, for I tell you their angels continually see the face of my Father in Heaven.'

    Matthew 18.10

If you are concerned about the welfare of a child or adult at risk, please do not delay in contacting the police, use 999 if a child or adult is believed to be in immediate danger.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and is a priority in every parish and diocesan organisation.
The Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle is fully committed to safeguarding in the Church and operates a zero-tolerance approach.

The safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults is at the heart of our Church’s mission.

We adopt and implement fully the policies and procedures of the Catholic Church of England and Wales, which is committed to safeguarding as an integral part of the life and ministry of the Church.
